2008 Chardonnay

Outstanding/Best Buy - Wine Press Northwest, Fall 2010 issue
"A blend of family fruit that underwent both stainless steel (70%) and barrel fermentation produces a fascinating Chardonnay. Twisting the cap unleashes a genie effect of tropical tones along with Asian pear, Granny Smith and subtle butterscotch. Sweet pears lead the pleasurable drink including cantaloupe, honeydew melon, creamy banana and underlying minerality. Refreshing lemon shows in the farewell. There will be pressure on newly promoted winemaker Mark Chargin to replicate this."

2006 Bare Naked Chardonnay

88 points - Wine Spectator, June 30, 2008
"Spicy style offers plenty of nutmeg and tobacco character around a lithe core of pear and starfruit flavors. This is distinctive, serious stuff. Drink now through 2012."

Recommended/Bronze Medal - 2008 World Wine Championships
"Pale golden yellow color. Almond praline and pear tart crust aromas follow thorugh on a soft, breezy entry to dryish medium body with crystallized honey and baked brown apple accents. Finishes somewhat thin, warming and lightly pithy, pink peppercorn fade."

Bronze Medal - Grand Harvest Awards 2009

2004 Bare Naked Chardonnay

Excellent By-The-Glass Choice - Santé, October 2006
“Medium bodies and herbal with aromas and flavors of pear and green apple; lovely, balanced finish. Shrimp.”

Wines of the Week - Wines Northwest, July 10, 2006
“The Bare Naked part of the name refers to 100% stainless steel fermentation. Look for aromas of spicy apple, lemon and ripe pear. The palate offers ample acidity and flavors of tart green apple and hints of stone fruits. The wine was blended with 5% Semillon to round out the flavor profile.”

89 points - Wine Spectator, June 15, 2006
“Bright and zingy, with grapefruit and mineral flavors that persist on the lively finish, lingering impressively. Drink now through 2010.”—H.S.

Recommended - Northwest Palate, May/June 2006
“Forward smells of citrus zest...lead to refreshing flavors of lemon-lime, red apple skin and citrus blossoms.
Pair with chicken takitori.”

87 points - Wine Lovers Page, February 2006

"Deft use of oak is a pleasure here. Green apples, citrus and vanilla aromas expand on the palate, presented on a crisp, medium-bodied framework."
